Research Accomplished:
- Developed a multi species DNA chip for old and new world camelids (Dromedary, Bactrian, Alpaca, Llama, Vicugna and Guanaco)
- Developed baseline information and completed genetic characterization of >250 local breeds of livestock and poultry (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goat, camel, chicken, guinea fowl, etc.) located across Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America
- Developed a cost-effective DNA test for detection of highly prolificacy sheep
- Developed a cos-effective DNA test for differentiating cows producing A1/A2 milk
- Developed a molecular diagnostic tool for detection and differentiation of sympatric Haemonchus parasites affecting ruminants
- Developed two novel panels of genotyping assays to facilitate studies on genetic disease resistance against gastro-intestinal parasites in sheep and goat
- Developed two whole genome radiation hybrid panels for mapping dromedary camel
- Developed a DNA marker panel for parentages testing in buffalo
