Scientific Value Addition of Mithun Meat and Milk for the Development of Entrepreneurship

On 8th August 2024, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema, organized a valedictory program marking the successful completion of a three-day training program on “Scientific Value Addition of Mithun Meat and Milk for the Development of Entrepreneurship,” held from 6th to 8th August 2024. This training initiative was part of a broader capacity-building program aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of the candidates regarding the value addition of mithun meat and creating awareness about mithun husbandry practices. Ultimately, this will benefit the entire farming community and foster entrepreneurship development. At the commencement, Dr. Girish Patil S., Director of ICAR-NRCM, extended congratulations to all participants for successfully completing the training program. He emphasized the ongoing need for such training initiatives in the future. Notably, Dr. Moaakum Pongen, Chief Technical Officer, Animal Science, ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Wokha district, served as a resource person during the training program. Dr. Pongen delivered hands-on training on "Processing of Meat Products and Their Value Addition" to the trainees.

During this training program, a total of eight farmers participated, seven of whom were females. All the farmers highly appreciated the efforts of ICAR-NRC on Mithun and expressed eagerness to participate in similar training programs in the near future.
