ICAR-NRC on Mithun conducted three days training programme on “Reproductive Management and Artificial Insemination in Mithun under TSP” from 26 to 28 September 2022

ICAR-NRC on Mithun conducted three days training programme on “Reproductive Management and Artificial Insemination in Mithun under TSP” from 26 to 28 September 2022

 

Three days training programme on “Reproductive Management and Artificial Insemination in Mithun” was conducted for 3rd Semester zoology students of Patkai Christian College from 26 to 28 September 2022. This training was intended to provide students with the fundamental knowledge to understand and manage an effective Mithun or dairy reproductive programme. On 26th September during the inaugural ceremony, Dr. M. H. Khan, Director, ICAR-NRC on Mithun motivated the students to take this opportunity to learn maximum so that in the future there are ample opportunities to work on organized farms. Earlier, Ms. Angel Sonari, Vice Principal, Patkai Christian College thanked the institute for providing such training on regular basis.

Under this training, various theories and practical classes were conducted such as anatomy and physiology of the reproductive tract of Mithun, introduction to reproductive hormones and its evaluation using ELISA, selection of Mithun or dairy animals, semen collection, evaluation, processing and cryopreservation, estrus detection and artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and, care and management of pregnant animals. 

The closing ceremony was held on 28th September 2022 and the students were awarded certificates. Dr. Nazrul Haque, Principal Scientist (AN), ICAR-NRC on Mithun encouraged the students to constantly search for opportunities in both agriculture and animal husbandry. Earlier Dr. R. Achila, HOD (Zoology), Patkai Christian College thanked the institute for organizing wonderful training. A total of 29 students participated in the training program.
